To Our Local Friends and Neighbors,

There is definitely a whole lot of uncertainty in the economy recently and probably with the Automobile Industry more than any other.  As your local Ford dealer here in Summit County we felt that maybe a brief history about our Dealership and some current facts about the Ford Motor Company may help revive your confidence. Crandall Ford was founded in 1946 by George Crandall Sr. in Kamas, Utah, sharing a facility with the Buick Dealership of Taylor & Taylor Motor Co.  Two years later, in 1948, the operation moved to a new facility in Coalville, Utah.  Upon returning from Military Duty in 1955 George Crandall Jr. began managing the Dealership successfully through good times and bad. In the 1980’s George was joined by his son, Robert Crandall who currently manages the Dealership.  In 1994 we moved to our current facility near Kimball Junction on Rasmussen Road.  Since we began in 1946 there have been eight other Dealerships in Summit County come and go.  Our success comes from sixty three years of consistent and conservative business practices, many long time Employees dedicated to providing great Customer Service, and many repeat and referral Customers.

Ford Motor Company was founded in 1903 by Henry Ford and is a public corporation with the majority of the stock still held by the Ford Family.  Long before the recent credit crisis, through the foresight and direction of CEO Alan Mulally, in 2006 the Company began a very difficult restructuring process, reducing the workforce by over 65,000, closing 17 plants, and mortgaging Company assets for a 23 billion dollar line of credit.  These were very tough decisions and to a large extent are why Ford Motor Company is still economically viable and the only one of the Detroit three that is still not asking for Government loans.

The BEST NEWS comes from many of the third party experts around the Country regarding Ford’s current and future product:

·         Ford vehicle fuel economy is competitive and in many cases better model to model versus the competition.

·         The New Ford Fusion Hybrid beats the Toyota Camry Hybrid in fuel economy.

·         Ford has committed to leading in the advanced development of advanced technologies including EcoBoost, Flex-Fuel Vehicles, Clean Diesel, Hybrids, Plug-in Hybrids, and Hydrogen Cars.
